Dangote invests in agric- Niger state

The President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on Monday disclosed that the company would invest $450m in agriculture development in Niger State over the next three years. 

Dangote, who made this known during the 2017 Niger State Investment Summit in Minna, said the funds would be used in establishing a large scale rice processing mill to process over 200, 000 metric tonnes of paddy rice.

Olam empowers Sesame farmers in Bauchi

Federal government’s efforts on sustainable agricultural growth received a boost in Bauchi State with the inauguration of the sesame out-grower programme by Olam Nigeria limited.
The initiative, is anchored under Olam’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), is engendered to empower Sesame farmers, and the actualisation of food sufficiency in Nigeria.

20,000 tonnes of cocoa processed daily at Osun

The newly resuscitated Osun State Cocoa Processing Industry in Ede has started processing cocoa in line with the industrialisation plan of the current administration in the state.

The company, which was inaugurated on October 17, 1982, had stopped production in 2001 due to obsolete equipment and management issues.

Yam exportation to the UK,US starts soon

A total of 72 metric tonnes of yam will leave the shores of Nigeria for United Kingdom and the United States of America next week, the Federal Government has said.

It stated that the commencement of the raw food exportation from Nigeria would be done through the Apapa Port in Lagos next Thursday.

First Made in Nigeria goods campaign carnival to be declared by Vice president-Osinbajo

ACTING President, Yemi Osinbajo will declare open the first made in Nigeria goods campaign Carnival, designed to give Nigerian Manufacturers, service providers and brands, the opportunity to show case their products and services as well as for participants and partners to share their success stories.

The Acting President is also to deliver the key note address to kick-start the carnival where a network would be created for patriotic Nigerian Manufacturers, over 200,000 participants daily for the carnival which would hold for seven days as well as participation of 774 brands from across the 774 Local Government Areas of the country.

Policies strategy to support Made-in-Nigeria Campaign by Federal Government

The Federal Government is carrying out a sector by sector review of ideas, policies and programmes that would give concrete meaning to the Made in Nigeria campaign.

The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, who gave the indication on an NTA interview programme, Good Morning Nigeria, on Thursday, said although new ideas have been drafted to urgently drive the process, relevant policies by past administrations are also being evaluated to further give impetus to the project which the present administration considers as critical to its diversification effort.

Patronage of Made in Nigeria products to be institutionalized

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said that the Federal Government has commenced the process of institutionalizing the patronage of locally-made products among its Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The Minister disclosed this in Abuja, yesterday, at the National Media Launch of the “Buy Made-in-Nigeria” Campaign.
